Clinical Effectiveness

Clinical effectiveness is the extent to which an intervention (whether a treatment, procedure or service) improves the outcome for patients in practice. It is also known simply as ‘effectiveness’. A randomised controlled trial is the most trustworthy way of assessing clinical effectiveness.
